Get Out and About in Almeria

You will discover that there are lots of things to see in Almeria. In the old quarter of you will find the attractive 17th century Plaza Vieja which is a good place to stop for a drink and a snack with its many tapas bars and cafés. Calle de las Tiendas which runs south from the Puerto de Purchena is one of Almeria’s oldest streets and nowadays is a fashionable shopping area. Have a wander down the delightful side streets which lead via Plaza Flores and Torres Siloy to the Plaza San Pedro and have a look at the handsome church and raised promenade.

Try the Resort of Mojacar

If you want to book your Spanish villa rentals or your Spanish apartments to rent in a delightful seaside resort on the Costa Almeria one of the most well-liked places is picturesque Mojacar. It is roughly an hour’s car journey from Almeria city. It is situated in the Sierra de Cabrera mountain range high up on a hill and is only two kilometres from the coast (Mojacar playa). It is a picturesque town with its narrow streets, square white houses and arched town squares. It has lovely, long, unspoilt beaches with deep alcoves just waiting to be explored.

Vera is a lively town with plenty of tourist amenities including plenty of shops, a Saturday street market, excellent restaurants and tapas bars and many nearby holiday developments with self-catering holiday apartments to rent. Interesting buildings in the town include the Town Hall, the History Museum and the Church of the Encarnacion. If you fancy a game of golf whilst on holiday the resort is within easy reach of 6 local golf courses. At nearby Vera Playa there is the Parque Acuatico where you can enjoy exciting water flume rides or you can simply relax by one of the three swimming pools.
